bio:
Pulver records was established in 2001 by Flo Pfl?ger, Rino Spadavecchia, and Robin Hofmann - all three members of the producer-dj-quartett, Dublex Inc. The first stirrings of Pulver records emerged from a mutual desire to create a personal platform for presenting their own musical material. Today, Pulver records offers an ever growing family of artists - all of varying character, origin and background. Artists like Dutch Rhythm Combo from Berlin or the extraordinarily talented duo; Inverse Cinematics as well as Dublex Inc. all share in the opportunity of rising alongside the label on a mutual trajectory of artistic creation.

At the very core of Pulver?s musical mission is the idea of achieving a symbiotic unity by producing club-music that draws upon the finest elements of classical funk, soul and jazz. Each new mix has its roots steeped in traditional musical currents, but then veers off on a journey through the modern end of the musical spectrum out into previously uncharted soundscapes.

Pulver records presents an optimal way for musicians as well as for the label to passionately experience the vital forces of creativity and to project that vitality outward to a broader audience that is receptive to harnessing the style and the solidity of tradition and to throwing that in with the heart-in-your-throat thrill of seizing the horns of wild creative disorder in an effort to blaze new trails among the stars.

It is in this spirit that we extend our creative offerings to all of you who by your very nature entertain the highest level of musical expectations in your daily doings: whether you are at work, out on the street, or evenings in a bar or a pulsing, sultry night club. Pulver Records symbolises, both in spirit and in the flesh, an exactingly creative lifestyle that would not be complete without the right music to smooth off the edges.

Since its inception, visual aesthetics have been a serious matter at Pulver Records. The label office together with the graphic workshop form an inseparable unit that concentrates its well-focussed creative energies toward areas we consider deeply important like cover design. This insistence on crafting detail that extends beyond the music itself shows that Pulver is more than just a record label: it is a way of channelling much of the ever-present media phenomena of our day. The aesthetic ethos of Pulver Records is distinctive in that it strives to forge a balance between function and luxury. Not only are we in a position to present an in-the-hand product that immediately strikes you for its sober yet stunning visual design elements, we have also chosen to see to the essential functional aspects of packaging.

Our long-standing experience through years of dealing with albums and cd?s as dj?s and record collectors gives us an edge in attaining the highest possible results. A basic object transformed through packaging becomes a much sought-after, aesthetically valuable collectible that will increase in value. By placing emphasis on cover design and graphic presentation, a simple package - whether it be an album or a book - can be lifted from a position of bland mediocrity and become an object of universal desire. As with luxury perfume bottles: package translates as content.

By placing emphasis on cover design and graphic presentation, a simple package - whether it be an album, a computer or a book - can be lifted from a position of bland mediocrity and become an object of universal desire. As with the revolutionary ruby, green and blue translucent housings of the iMac: package is content.

(Gani, Toronto, www.milkaudio.com):
?Design. It's often the last thing on anybody's mind when it comes to independent, underground music packaging. In a world with so many labels it's hard to believe that some people are still happy seeing their record on the shelf in a plain white or black cardboard sleeve sitting next to more forward thinking labels such as Pulver Records. I bought my first Pulver 12" and was pleasantly surprised to see artwork on the inside of the sleeve and I enjoy the interplay between the sleeve and the inside record slip. The latest 12" has a pop out business card which is a wicked idea and the hole left behind is filled with the information about the record. Good design rocks.?

Over the last few years Pulver Records has created its own distinct image by holding to two basic, inviolable ground-rules: provide solid musical content and present that content using outstanding visual design. This has enabled us establish a name for ourselves that extends beyond Germany and Europe placing us firmly in the international marketplace. But of even greater importance have been the many friendships and the mutual cooperation and continued close contact with other artists and labels.

Our constant presence as dj?s in clubs around the world helps us enormously in keeping our contacts alive and fresh, allowing the creative network to grow. This can easily be seen through our most recent artistic acquisition, Jason Angola from NYC and in the licensing of our label compilation Pulverising! Digital to Japan.
